i have to admit one of my favorite things is fresh vacuum lines in my carpet, crazy i know! i almost get giddy over it! well this weekend i went to see my brother in st. george. while i was away mike did some serious cleaning so that when i came home all of the weekend chores were done! what a man! he vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathrooms. he even cleaned my shower...my least favorite thing to clean. thanks so much babe!!

on a side note, i'm looking for a cleaning lady. if any of you have a good contact, please pass it along.

actual conversation…NO KIDDING!

Just to be nice I’m going to keep this special individuals name private…why, I don’t know!

So tonight at our quarterly primary activity I was approached by a lady while I was quietly sitting in the back of the room rocking my baby to sleep…minding my own business. The conversation went like this.

Lady: So how old is your baby?
Me: 3 months
Lady: She’s beautiful.
Me: Thanks, I think so too!
Lady: I’m a mother too and a mother by choice.
Me: Yep it’s pretty fun .

(I’m really thinking bad choice lady you’re a wack job! Plus the conversation at this point was getting awkward! Close talker!!)

Lady: So what does your husband do?
Me: He works for Sapa Engineering.
Lady: That’s nice.

LONG AWKWARD PAUSE

Lady: So I assume you stay home with your baby?
Me: No, I work full time for a company called Neways International.
Lady: OH!

No kidding…I could actually see here shaking her head! I quietly excused myself and walked away. Obviously this made her very nervous because not even ten minutes later here she comes again with more questions. Frankly…mind your own business!

Lady: So who tends your baby?
Me: A babysitter???

At this point I’m thinking of telling her I leave her at home in the kennel with my dogs!

Lady: So do you work the weekend too? And do you work a full 40 hours?
Me: No I have the weekends off, but yes I work 40+ hours a week at work.
Lady: OH! So have you been around kids at all?
Me: Yes.
Lady: So you know what you’re doing then?
Me: I guess??

What do you say to that…no, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. You’re the expert stay at home mom, would you like to teach me?

Lady: So many people just have babies and then they don’t know how to take care of them, so I was just asking. Is your baby a good baby?
Me: She’s great!
Lady: You must be a relaxed mom, there’s only one problem with that. The kids generally turn out to be out of control. That happens so much. It’s too bad.

Seriously! At this point I’m thinking, no, it’s too bad I’m actually having this conversation with you. I politely excused myself thinking WOW! Did I actually just have that conversation?? This is why I have to give myself a pep talk before any church function. So if any of you out there were wonder if I’m going back to work or not, the answer is yes. Now you can save yourself the question, and possibly a really awkward conversation!
